Shell stem vase
A stem vase thrown on my traditional Leach kick wheel with white clay from the clifftop quarry a few miles up the north Cornish coast at St Agnes. I have used a favourite cockle shell from a local West Penwith beach to impress a repeat pattern around the pot. Fired to stoneware temperatures with a speckled white satin glaze in an electric kiln. My maker’s mark is stamped on the base. Measuring approx 16.5cm tall x 9cm at its widest x 3cm neck diameter and 6cm diameter at base.
